What we handle
Tocci & Son can help with subfloor review, layout, board installation, transitions, sanding if needed, stain and finish guidance, and cleanup.
Matching new floors to old floors
Many homes in Massachusetts and Rhode Island have older hardwood that is worth preserving. Jared can help determine the wood species, board width, stain direction, and finish approach that will create the most natural transition.
Exact matches are not always possible, especially with older floors that have aged, darkened, or faded. The goal is a clean, intentional result that feels right in the home.
Installation process
1. Review the space
Jared looks at the rooms, existing flooring, subfloor, transitions, and project goals.
2. Choose the right material
You will talk through wood species, board width, finish expectations, durability, and budget.
3. Prep the area
The existing surface is removed or prepared, and the subfloor is checked before installation begins.
4. Install the floor
Boards are installed carefully with attention to layout, movement, transitions, and long-term performance.
5. Sand, stain, and finish if needed
Depending on the flooring type, the floor may be sanded, stained, and finished on site.
Frequently asked questions

Do new hardwood floors need to be finished on site?
Some floors are prefinished, and others are sanded and finished after installation. Jared can explain the tradeoffs for your project.
